MathsTree is a mobile application developed and operated by Canopy Code Ltd. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our app.
1. Information we collect
When you create an account, we collect: email address, display name, year group, exam board, and tier selection. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from those services. We do not receive your password.
We also collect usage data: quiz results, topics practised, skill tree progress, streak data, and device type.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to provide and personalise the learning experience, track progress, generate the parent dashboard, detect knowledge gaps, maintain streaks, improve the app, and communicate updates.
We do NOT sell your data to third parties, display personalised advertisements, train AI models, or profile children for marketing.
3. Data storage and security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase, with servers in the United Kingdom (europe-west2, London). Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
4. Children's privacy
MathsTree is designed for children aged 14-18 (GCSE students). We do not collect more information than necessary, do not display advertisements, do not share children's data with third parties for marketing, and comply with the UK Age Appropriate Design Code and UK GDPR.
5. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, object to processing, and withdraw consent. Contact us at privacy@mathstree.co.uk.
6. Data retention
We retain your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data is deleted within 30 days.
7. Third-party services
We use Google Firebase (authentication, database), Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, and RevenueCat (subscription management). We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
8. Cookies and tracking
MathsTree does not use cookies or web tracking technologies.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the app.
